We keep data collection practical and limited, and use your information to provide the service you asked for — on the website and in the LeanPlate app.

Lean Plate by Kamal ("Lean Plate", "we", "us", or "our") provides nutrition coaching, related information, and the LeanPlate mobile app through https://leanplatebykamal.com and the LeanPlate app for Android. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit the website, join a waitlist, submit an enquiry, communicate with us, or create and use a LeanPlate app account.
We collect information you choose to provide, including your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, primary goal, plan of interest, message, and waitlist email address.
We also collect limited technical and usage information, such as the page visited, interactions with site features, approximate event time, browser or device information made available in a standard web request, and a random per-tab session identifier. Our website analytics are designed to work without advertising cookies and do not use the session identifier to identify you personally.
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Instagram, email, or another third-party service, that provider may process your information under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us host and operate the website, store enquiries, deliver communications, or provide coaching, only as reasonably necessary for those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business reorganization.
Some providers may process information outside your state or country. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards apply.
We process information with your consent, to take steps at your request or perform an agreement with you, for legitimate interests such as operating and securing the website, and where necessary to meet legal obligations.
You may ask to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, or opt out of non-essential communications by emailing theleanplatebykamal@gmail.com. App account holders can also delete everything themselves at https://leanplatebykamal.com/delete-account. Some information may be retained where the law permits or requires it.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including providing services, resolving disputes, maintaining business records, and meeting legal requirements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and our relationship with you.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This section covers what the LeanPlate app collects and does, in addition to the website practices described above.
We use this information to calculate your calorie and nutrient targets, show your history and weekly summaries, generate coaching insights, let your coach review your progress on Pro, and operate the account and subscription features described in these policies. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
Data is stored on MongoDB Atlas and AWS servers in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
Firebase/Google processes your phone number solely to verify it and to deliver push notifications. Razorpay processes payment details solely to process your subscription payment. Neither receives your meal, health, photo, or coaching data.
You can export all of your logged data as a CSV file from Settings → Export my data, and permanently delete your account and every record it holds from Settings → Delete account, right in the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone — no support ticket needed. If you can no longer sign in, request deletion at https://leanplatebykamal.com/delete-account: we email a confirmation link to the address on the account, and using it erases everything straight away. That page also lists exactly what is deleted and the little we keep.
LeanPlate can read activity data from Android's Health Connect. This is entirely optional: nothing is read unless you connect it yourself and grant permission, and the app is fully usable without it. Health Connect is where data from Samsung Health, a Galaxy Watch, Fitbit or any other tracker you have synced reaches LeanPlate — we do not integrate with those apps directly.

That is the complete list. LeanPlate does not request or read heart rate, sleep, weight, nutrition, exercise sessions, location, or any other Health Connect record type.
How we handle it: access is read-only — LeanPlate never writes, modifies or deletes anything in Health Connect. Reads happen only while the app is open and in the foreground; there is no background or scheduled access. The data is used solely to display your activity inside the app — your daily totals, your 7-day trend, your step goal, and, if you are on Pro, so your coach can see your activity alongside the rest of your progress.
What we never do with it: Health Connect data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold or rented, never shared with data brokers, and never transferred to any third party for their own purposes. It is not used to train machine-learning or AI models. It is not shared with our payment or authentication providers.
Storage and deletion: activity read from Health Connect is stored with the rest of your account data on MongoDB Atlas and AWS servers in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and kept until you delete it or delete your account.
Your control: you can revoke LeanPlate's access at any time in the Health Connect app, or turn the connection off in LeanPlate under Settings → Activity. Either stops all reading immediately. Activity already synced remains in your account until you remove it, and deleting your account erases it along with everything else.
The website, coaching enquiries, and the LeanPlate app are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and the app is not directed at or designed for children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised date.
